Young carers
Many young people who help look after a parent, a grandparent or sibling don't see themselves as carers and may not realise there is practical and emotional support available in North East Essex. The Colchester young carers club is for young carers aged between 8 to 18. It provides young carers with the chance to have fun, socialise and make new friends. It is run by Action for Family Carers. Young adult Carers in Colchester The young adult carers service is run by Action for Family Carers. It is for young adult carers aged between 17 and 24. The Tendring young carers club is for young carers aged between 8 to 18. It provides young carers with the chance to have fun, socialise and make new friends. It is run by Crossroad Care.
The Young Carers Development Officer can provide you with information on young carers assessments, local young carer groups, and an Essex Young Carers Magazine. The Junction at 78 Maldon Road, Colchester CO3 3AL is run by Colchester MIND. It offers support and advocacy for young people in Colchester and Tendring and has a young person’s board that helps shape the service. It supports young people who are experiencing emotional difficulties and works with young people who feel they need their voice heard in difficult situations.
