  Older People’s Forum

The main aim of the Tendring Older People’s Forum is to explore the needs of the older population of the Tendring District and make recommendations for service delivery.  The forum is open to all residents of Tendring who feel that life begins at 50 and want to share their ideas or concerns with like minded people.

So what do you think?

We want to find out what issues and concerns are faced by older people living in Tendring. We have put together a survey to find out these concerns so that we can tackle the issues raised and make Tendring a better place.

The survey that can be completed by older people and also by family members, carers or friends of the older person.  Click here to download a copy of the survey.

Completed responses can either be sent to: Older Persons Survey,   FREEPOST CL3705,   Council Offices,   Thorpe Road,   Weeley,  CO16 9AJ.  Or can be returned to CVST.

We will have other guest attendees who will be ready to field your questions in the open session part of the meeting.  All member organisations will bring useful information about their activities so, as well as being heard, this is an ideal time to get up to date with or discover new services which will improve your quality of life.  You remember the famous saying ‘Your country needs YOU’ The forum needs you to make sure it is truly representing the views and concerns of the elderly in Tendring.  If you wish to attend, please contact CVS Tendring on 01255 425 692 or by email admin@cvstendring.org.uk

Whose money is it anyway? - click here for report

Two months ago, Future East invited a variety of participants from the voluntary, statutory and private sector, to meet with older people with strong local networks, to explore together a delicate issue involving older people, money and relationships, and the implications for safeguarding.  During this event, everyone had the opportunity to participate and have their thoughts recorded in this report. If reading the report sparks off any further action or thoughts, however small, please share it with Marion Bailey, Future East.

Future East was sorry to disappoint some of those who tried to book for this event. The next event, on 13th March in Cambridge, will include some further discussion of safeguarding. For further details and feedback, contact: marion@futureeast.org.uk
