Try Before You Apply At The Tendring Jobs Fair Skills Marquee

Can you tell your Jasmine from your Pilau? Your perennial from your annual? All will be revealed, plus much more at this year’s Tendring’s Jobs and Careers Fair.

Taking place on Tuesday 1 October, from 10-4pm at Clacton’s Princes Theatre, new to this year’s event is the inclusion of a ‘Hands-on Skills Activities’ area in the Skills Marquee, located in the car park of the Town Hall.

This area will include a range of activities for visitors to try including bricklaying and carpentry, as well as cooking, gardening, mocktail making and massage. A full list of exhibitors and the activities available can be found on the website:

Councillor Mary Newton, Cabinet Member for Business and Economic Growth said: “Exhibitors on the day will include a diverse range of businesses spanning many sectors, all looking for potential employees.

“If you are looking for a job, interested in a change of career or want to get back onto work then come along to the Jobs Fair as there are opportunities for everyone.”

Kate Bloom, Customer Service Leader for Colchester, Clacton and Harwich Jobcentres added: “We wanted to improve on the success of previous years and decided to give visitors a real hands-on experience this year.

“Offering people the chance to perform some of the tasks that fulfil a role provides valuable insight into that job, business and industry. Visitors can leave with a much better idea of what a job actually involves.”

Free shuttle buses will run to the event from Jaywick Sands and Harwich and Dovercourt. To reserve your place on the Harwich and Dovercourt shuttle bus, which runs from the Harwich Jobcentre, call 01255 206724. For a place on the Jaywick Sands bus, call 01255 234129.
