Seeds 4 Growth

Level-up your skills for free with Seeds 4 Growth courses

A new Seeds 4 Growth project has gone live, led by Abberton Rural Training (ART) and delivered in partnership with Paragon Skills, Colbea, Colne Radio and Community Voluntary Services Tendring.

Funded by the UK Government — through the UK Community Renewal Fund — and managed by Essex County Council and the partnership, the project has secured just over £500k.

The aim is to work with local employers and engage with Tendring residents to offer them employment opportunities, self-employment, and training within the rural and care sectors.

It also offers mentoring and advocacy support to help remove barriers, as well as support for individuals to progress with their life goals.

Courses include:

  • Introduction to Care;
  • Introduction to Community Radio and Communication Skills;
  • Information, Advice And Guidance On Business Start-Up;
  • Rural Skills Training.

If you live in Tendring and want to find out more or book a course, call 01255 615914 now.

Rural Skills Training

The Seeds4Growth Partnership are working with CVST and their affiliated groups.

We’d love to hear from other Tendring District-based organisations, groups or individuals who are looking at future learning and employment opportunities in the District.

We’re keen to partner with organisations who work with people, to provide mentoring support to overcome barriers. Particularly:

  • people who feel isolated and lonely;
  • 17+ young people not in education, employment or training;
  • unemployed people;
  • individuals who need support for mental and physical health;
  • people on low income and/or zero-hour contracts who would benefit from more stable and sustainable employment and career opportunities.

Contact CVST or email info@abbertonruraltraining.org and we’ll contact you in the New Year to confirm how you can go about referring individuals to the training and support.
