Free Rural Skills Training

FREE basic horticulture and land-based skills are being offered by a specialist rural training charity.

Abberton Rural Training’s course offers participants the chance to build confidence, gain new skills, and build employability skills while helping to safeguard the natural environment.

The course, part of the Seeds4Growth project, is being run from Community Voluntary Services Tendring’s Kennedy Way Community Garden in Clacton.

Participants will get outdoors, meet new people and make a difference in the community while gaining basic horticulture skills.

There may also be the chance to gain further qualifications and meet with partners to help build on communication skills and self-employment or business start-up opportunities.

Seeds4Growth is led by Abberton Rural Training (ART) and delivered in partnership with Paragon Skills, Colbea, Colne Radio and Community Voluntary Services Tendring.

The project, managed by Essex County Council and the partnership, is funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund.

It aims to work with local employers and engage with Tendring Residents to offer them opportunities to explore employment, self-employment and training within the rural and care sectors.

Tendring District residents can call the dedicated phone line to find out more and book their course 01255 615914, email info@abbertonruraltraining.org, or visit What Abberton Rural Training Offers – Seeds4Growth.
