Volunteering

Volunteer Centre

CVS Tendring runs the local Volunteer Centre for the district which acts as a hub to bring together organisations that need volunteers with groups and individuals who want to volunteer.

If you want to find out about volunteering in your local community or if you are from an organisation looking for volunteers, visit the Volunteer Essex website to register or for more information.

Whether you are 16 or 90 years old; an individual, an organisation or a charity; wherever you live or work in the Tendring district from Alresford to Harwich or Thorpe to Wrabness, we have volunteering opportunities for all and we work hard to bring volunteers and the people that need them together.

Every year in Tendring, hundreds of people decide to volunteer and here are ten good reasons to join them.

You can:

  • Make new friends
  • Gain valuable work experience
  • Improve your job prospects
  • Learn a variety of new skills
  • Gain self confidence
  • Use your talents and experience
  • Campaign for something you believe in
  • Help other people
  • Contribute to improving your local environment
  • Have fun

As a volunteer you could:

  • Provide administration support
  • Marshal events
  • Be a charity trustee
  • Volunteer in a local charity shop
  • Volunteer at a local children’s centre
  • Fundraise outside a local shop
  • Work with animals
  • Teach people how to use a computer
  • Be a Governor of a local school
  • And much, much more!

So why not register your details on www.volunteeressex.org where you’ll be able to search and apply for local opportunities.

Our Volunteer Centre is here to help you. We offer a wide range of support to local people who are interested in volunteering.

You can talk face to face with one of our team who will help you to choose the type of volunteering opportunity to suit your needs and circumstances. Alternatively, you can talk to someone over the phone, calls are charged at local rate, but we are happy to call you back.
