Having difficulty reading or writing, for whatever reason, can affect education;
employment; finances; health and family life. It can prevent people from getting the
information they need to make choices. Make your information more accessible for
people with learning disabilities and others who may find it useful.
The objectives of the training are:
• To gain an awareness of the legal and ethical reasons for making
information easier to understand
• To gain an awareness of the barriers to communication faced by
people with learning disabilities
• To have practical experience in understanding the basic rules for
making information easier to understand
• To be given ideas and examples to follow
• To receive directions on where to find more information and support,
locally and nationally
There are limited places for this course. For availability and booking please email richard.perkins@cvstendring.org.uk

The Onboarding: induction training for newly appointed Trustees

This session is part of a Learning Programme, providing free and high-quality training to support people to become and serve as effective trustees.

Many trustees tell us they didn’t have a clear overview of their responsibilities when inducted into their board.

This free one hour of Trusession takes you through trustee duties in a clear and engaging way. This session is also suitable as a refresher for existing trustees.

By the end of this introductory webinar you will understand:

The role of a trustee
The main duties and responsibilities of a trustee
How to carry out your trusteeship duties effectively
The webinar is free to attend with an option to make a donation of your choice in checkout.
This webinar runs monthly for an hour, from 5.30-6.30pm and is held on Zoom.

For more information see: Induction for Trustees

Charity Board Leadership Programme

The Charity Board Leadership Programme will teach you what makes an effective, strategic and responsible trustee. If you’re ready to take up a trusteeship and need help getting the process over the line, this is the programme for you. Many delegates find a position within weeks of completing the course (some even find a position while the course is still ongoing!).

Our flagship six-week programme has six cohorts a year. £875 per person.

Tackling the prevalence of unwanted and aggressive behaviours such as harassment that underly the broader cycle of violence against women and girls is a key priority for the Suzy Lamplugh Trust. The programme drives awareness of harassment, upskilling and empowering bystanders across various settings such as public transport, educational institutions, festivals, public spaces, and workplaces, to help defuse situations, discourage harassers, and support victims.
