The Big Help Out and

Volunteer Fortnight

Volunteer Fortnight at CVST

From May 22 for two weeks, CVST is inviting residents in Tendring to turn up and volunteer.

Nicola Vella, volunteer co-ordinator at CVST, said: “We wanted to break down the barriers to volunteering by saying ‘just turn up and try it’.  So many of our volunteers say how being a volunteer has changed their life for the better.  They have made friends and really enjoy being a part of something.  Volunteering can improve your mental health, give you a purpose, teach you new skills, and help you share skills you already have.”

Volunteering opportunities will be available at the lunch club, knitting and crochet circle, RummiKub, seated yoga, friendship cafes, craft group in Harwich, Dovercourt allotment, on reception, gardening, car park tidy, my weight matters group, and walking groups in Clacton, Manningtree and Walton.

Timetables of activities will also be on our Facebook page, on this page, and you can get further information by calling our Clacton hub on 01255 425692 or Harwich on 01255 554115.

Celebrating the King’s Coronation with The Big Help Out

We are proud to support The Big Help Out – a unique initiative which forms a part of His Majesty The King’s Coronation.

Starting on Monday 8th May, it’s a chance for everybody to experience volunteering in their local area.

Volunteering not only helps the local community, but brings joy and purpose to the person volunteering.

For some, volunteering is the way they keep themselves active, it improves their overall wellbeing, and makes them feel good about themselves.

For others, it’s a way to give something back.

Whatever the reason, volunteering can be hugely rewarding.

By supporting The Big Help Out, we hope to encourage more people in Tendring to volunteer.

If you’re interesting in learning a new skill, or sharing your expertise, then look at all the volunteering opportunities available in Tendring at www.volunteeressex.org.uk

Organisations are also welcome to sign up and add their opportunities to the website.

Help us to do something amazing. Join in, Lend a hand. Make a change.
