Christmas with CVST and Mad about Theatre

CHRISTMAS day lunch was offered by community voluntary service and theatre charity in Clacton. 

Community Voluntary Services Tendring (CVST) and MAD about theatre hosted a Christmas Day lunch this year for anyone who was alone for Christmas. 

The Lions Club of Clacton on Sea also gave £500 funding towards the Christmas meal. 

Sharon Alexander, Chief Officer at Community Voluntary Services Tendring, said: “We are so happy to have offered a place for lonely residents to come on Christmas Day. 

“Giving these residents the opportunity to talk to someone on Christmas Day and a hot meal is so important to the community. 

“Thank you to everyone who helped with getting residents to the Christmas Dinner and to The Lions Club for their very kind donation.” 

CVST volunteers and Tendring Community Transport also offered transport for anyone who can’t get to the event themselves.

Harwich

A COMMUNITY hub is set to open its doors to bring residents together to celebrate Christmas in Harwich. 

Community Voluntary Services Tendring (CVST) will be opening its Dovercourt and Harwich Hub and offering a hot drink and some mince pies on Friday 27th December, from 10am to 12pm. 

Harwich Connexions will be available to book its transport services for anyone who might need help getting to the Hub. 

Tracy Lawrie, communities manager at CVST, said: “We are so happy to be offering an opportunity for everyone to come along to get a hot drink, mince pie and a chance to chat to others in their community. 

“The Christmas period can be difficult for so many people who are isolated or face spending this time of year alone. 

“Because of this we wanted to make sure there was a day when we could open our doors and invite people in to see a friendly face and have someone to talk to. 

“We are looking forward to providing everyone in our community with somewhere to go this Christmas time. 

“And for those who would struggle to find a way to get here, it’s brilliant that transport is also available to get to our hub for the event.
