Cutting the Cost of Living booklet out now

A FREE booklet to help Tendring residents with the rising cost-of-living is now available.

Community Voluntary Services Tendring (CVST) has put together a list of services and organisations with information and contacts to act as a one-stop-shop for all cost-of-living related concerns and issues in the district.

With the help of Tendring District Council, the booklet has also been printed so is also available as a hard copy in Clacton and Harwich.

Yvette Wetton, head of infrastructure at CVST, said: “We are very conscious of the impact the rising cost of living has on residents and on community groups.

“For some time now, we have had information on the cost of living crisis on our website and have been hosting a Cost of Living Action Group for charities and community groups in Tendring.

“We set the action group up as we knew that keeping these organisations running and thriving is vital to the welfare and wellbeing of residents across Tendring.

“If the charities and community groups went under, then it would be residents suffering the most from the loss – some services are what keep people going, they save lives with their support and services.

“But as we head into winter again, we wanted to provide something anyone in the district could use to find the services local to them in a time of need. And the Cutting the Cost of Living Booklet was born.

“We hope it goes some way to helping people when they need support the most.”

The Cutting the Cost of Living booklet is a 36-page booklet which includes information on household bills, family services, housing, benefits, food, health and wellbeing, access to work, digital support, services for the elderly, debt management, budgeting, pet loss and more.

Lee Knight, CVST’s resilience team manager, said: “The Cost of Living Action Group has been such a valuable resource for charities since it began, and I think this booklet will be another important asset to help Tendring cope with the cost of living.

“Remember, we also have our Winter Resilience Project, so anyone feeling the pinch should come along to one of our winter warmer days – take a look at our website for details on winter packs and where to find us.”

The booklets are available on the CVST website at Cost of Living Booklet 2025 and from CVST’s Clacton hub at Imperial House, Rosemary Road, Clacton, Dovercourt and Harwich Hub in High Street Dovercourt, and Clacton Town Hall.
