In Pictures: Harvest Day at Kennedy Way

A COMMUNITY garden celebrated Harvest with skills, sales and demonstrations.

Kennedy Way Community Garden in Clacton, run by Community Voluntary Services Tendring (CVST) invited members of the public, volunteers, staff and friends to the garden on 24 September 2025.

Attractions included guess the weight of the pumpkin, a raffle and tombola, wood burning and carving, Men’s Shed selling items made at the garden, CVST book sale, plant sale, and cakes.

Lynn Reed-Golden, CVST’s community connector at Kennedy Way Community Garden, said: “We love it when we hold a big event at the garden and see it filled with people.

“Harvest Day was a great time to show all the amazing things created and grown at the garden, and encourage more people to come and enjoy what we have on offer.

“The community garden is a space for everyone, we welcome people to come and sit and use the garden, the outside gym equipment, and just enjoy the open air.

“We have wildlife areas, sensory plants, an accessible path, a little pond, and so many beautiful plants and flowers.

“We also have a number of groups we run throughout the week, and members of these were at the open day showing what they can do.”
