October Half Term Family Events
Before the event
A FREE family warm hub is being held in Clacton this half term.
Community Voluntary Services Tendring (CVST) is hosting the event for families in Clacton on Wednesday, October 30th.
Held at St Clare’s Catholic Primary School in Cloes Lane, Clacton, the warm hub is free and open from 10am to 1pm.
Lee Knight, Resilience Team manager, said: “We are holding our warm hub again this year at St Clare’s to offer a place for families to go for some activities and to access some helpful services.
“Our warm hub is open to all families from all schools in Clacton.
“We will have winter warmer bags, the School Uniform Bank, Essex Fire Service, Library Services, Toy and Book Bank, benefit check and many other services that may be able to offer support for you, your family or your home.
“There will also be some fun activities for the children as well as food provided.
“There’s no need to book, just turn up on the day.”
CVST’s Resilience Team provide help and support through winter for Tendring residents, as well as events for families in school holidays.

After the event
FREE family warm hub events were held in Clacton this October half-term to offer support and advice.
Community Voluntary Services Tendring (CVST) organised the two events to bring support and advice from different organisations together in one place.
On Monday, a free family breakfast was held at CVST’s Imperial House in Clacton with face painting and local support services and organisations on hand for families to access.
On Wednesday, a free warm hub was held at St Clare’s Catholic Primary School in Clacton, with fun activities for children as well as breakfast and lunch provided.
Families were able to find out more about what Essex Fire Service can offer, access the School Uniform Bank, CVST Winter Warmers Team, the Library Service, the Toy and Book Bank, and support families to claim everything that they are entitled to.
Lee Knight, Resilience Team manager, said: “We had two brilliant events on offer this October half-term.
“The aim was to provide an opportunity for parents to access the organisations and services such as benefit check or school uniform bank while there were also activities to keep the children entertained.
“We were giving out winter warmer bags to support families in the colder months and provided breakfast and refreshments too.
“These events are a great way to support families during the school holidays with somewhere warm and friendly to go with food on offer, activities and organisations to find help and advice.
“It’s lovely to see the families coming along for breakfast and see the children having fun.”
