Before the event

IT’S Clacton’s biggest charity Christmas market next week. 

Community Voluntary Services Tendring (CVST) will be hosting its annual Victorian Christmas Market on Saturday 16th November. 

From 9.30 to 3pm there will be stalls filled with crafts, toys, jewellery, gifts and more. 

Residents will also be able to meet Father Christmas at the market at the Princes Theatre, as well as Queen Victoria and her entourage. 

There will also be entertainment, with a mix of choirs, theatre groups and dance classes.  

Sharon Alexander, chief officer at CVST, said: “Our annual charity Victorian Christmas market is a brilliant event with refreshments and entertainment as well as a hall filled with stalls. 

“Not only does it support the charities attending but you can find stocking fillers and gifts too.  

“Come along for a fun and festive day.”

After the event

CRAFT, toys, jewellery and treats were on sale at Clacton’s biggest charity Christmas market. 

Community Voluntary Services Tendring (CVST) held its annual Victorian Christmas Market on Saturday at the Princes Theatre in Clacton. 

The event, which has stalls for community and voluntary groups in Tendring, saw hundreds of shoppers come through the doors to browse and buy. 

As well as plenty of options for gifts, the market also saw entertainment on stage, including Singalong Pen, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Essex Nigel Spencer MBE, and seated dance. 

Shoppers were able to meet Father Christmas, Queen Victoria took a stroll around with her lady-in-waiting, and members of the Princes Theatre pantomime cast posed for photos before treating the crowd to a sneak preview of the show. 

Sharon Alexander, chief officer at CVST, said: “It was a wonderful event, with so many brilliant stalls full of amazing items. 

“You could get everything from decorations to Fair Trade chocolate and toys for the children on the day. 

“And we had a lovely selection of treats on offer in the cafe as well as amazing entertainment from singers and dancers. 

“Thank you to everyone who came and supported this event, and all the organisations involved.”
